Nope that is not the implication I got. I would have said something if it was.

I just want people to know that doing it either way is not good or bad and that it is a preference. I wanted to lay out my reasons why I think so, so that others may make their own decision.

I'm glad we had this conversation because it made me realize some problems in my thinking that needed to be corrected.

I don't have anything against "pretyping" your variables, or whatever you
want to call it.  I personally don't see the benefits, you obviously do.  I
can't really think of a reason either way, except for the minimal extra
load.  However, as comes up frequently, performance is way down the list of
concerns, long after readability and maintainability, so it's really a moot
point.
