Well, they build CF. It's more like Boeing producing ads using AeroJet planes. I mean the MM website is probably Macromedia's #1 product advertisement.
Yes, but the Macromedia site would be a good candidate for ColdFusion and RIAs even if they didn't make CF and Flash. I'm a big proponent of choosing the right technology for the job, and even though I get a kick out of hearing how some guy made Linux run on an orange peel I think that applying a technology to a task it is not best suited for is a disservice to both the technology and the task.
Can a good wiki be built from CF? You bet, and I'd like to see it. But folks aren't talking about building a wiki. They're talking about building a book.
Anyway, this sort of topic often incites things, so that's the last I'll say about it.
