Bingo. A lot of this is from a spreadsheet. Unfortunately, using the spreadsheet to power the app is not an option at the moment.
The calculations are fairly standard financial calculations (as found in excel): Standard Deviation, Correlation Coefficient etc. Other than the interdependencies with some of the calculations I can't think of any other issues (at the moment). -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Patrick McElhaney Sent: Tuesday, November 09, 2004 10:51 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [CFCDev] CFC Cohesion This sounds like a spreadsheet. Are the formulas in spreadsheets now? Could they be? Could you work with the spreadsheets programatically, putting the input values in the appropriate cells and getting the output values out of the calculated cells? That way the formulas wouldn't be embedded in the code. You could change them easily. In fact, YOU wouldn't even have to worry about changing the formulas. Just let the business people edit the spreadsheets themselves. I did something like that a few years ago. I had no idea how the formulas worked. In fact the forumlas were developed in paralell to my front end code.
