But it doesn't fire instantly - it fires at the end of the timeout period after the user's last activity. So the user could potentially log back in again before his previous onSessionEnd fired. So I wouldn't use it to save settings of anything timing critical.

I need to regenerate a data structure when a user's session ends, whether they explicitly log out or close the browser while logged in or let their session time out. I can deal with it easily if they explicitly log out, but the other 2 scenarios are more difficult to manage, and onSessionEnd seems to be perfect for that. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Paul Sent: Tuesday, March 29, 2005 4:34 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [CFCDev] Application.cfc [more questions] > For instance, I need to regenerate a data structure when a user logs out. > OnSessionEnd seems to be perfect for that. This may be a dumb question (I have not yet experimented with it) but from reading the livedocs it sounds like onSessionEnd fires only when a session times out or (w/ J2EE session vars) when the browser closes. IIRC the docs say onSessionEnd is not called by cflogout or structClear(session). Are we supposed to be explicitly calling onSessionEnd? That doesn't seem right... -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Tony Weeg Sent: Tuesday, March 29, 2005 7:24 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [CFCDev] Application.cfc [more questions] ok... so its cool to fill that sucker up with code right in it... here we go! thanks. tony On Mon, 28 Mar 2005 23:18:09 +0200, Nando <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > For me, it's not so much what was in App.cfm, more what wasn't possible in > App.cfm. > > For instance, I need to regenerate a data structure when a user logs out. > OnSessionEnd seems to be perfect for that. > > I'm also thinking of caching application scoped structures to disk > OnApplicationEnd. > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Behalf Of Tony Weeg > Sent: Monday, March 28, 2005 11:04 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: [CFCDev] Application.cfc [more questions] > > What are people doing with all the functionality that "WAS" in App.cfm > that now goes in App.cfc? cfinclude? is that recommended? > > just wondering... > > -- > tony > > Tony Weeg > > macromedia certified coldfusion mx developer > email: tonyweeg [at] gmail [dot] com > blog: http://www.revolutionwebdesign.com/blog/ > cool tool: http://www.antiwrap.com > > "...straight cash homey" > - randy moss, now a raider > > ---------------------------------------------------------- > You are subscribed to cfcdev.
