Of the one's I've read, I can't recommend any. However, since it sounds like you've got a grasp on components themselves, a more general purpose OO book might be fine. The classic, of course, is the Gang of Four book: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0201633612/qid=1112718810/sr=2-1/ref= pd_bbs_b_2_1/104-8242680-0325556 That said, the book is slightly out of date. The examples (mostly about building a word processor) are not very practical for Web development. If nothing else, it's worth reading because it's the template upon which most other pattern books are based. A more relevant choice might be Martin Fowler's Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0321127420/qid=1112718796/sr=2-1/ref= pd_bbs_b_2_1/104-8242680-0325556 That has quite a few good examples, many of which are directly applicable to Web applications. In particular, Fowler discusses several different patterns for data access.
