It's a different issue depending on how you phrase the problem. I believe
you were just arguing that ColdFusion should have an overt "type system"
that included nulls. This is one instance in which nulls would be useful.

One thing that I would really hate to see is the mess that is VBScript.
VBScript differentiates between unassigned values (Empty), null objects
(Nothing), and null values (Null). If ColdFusion does get null values, let
there be one null to rule them all.
