That description actually didn't come from Barney, it came from the Mach-II web site, and as far as I can tell it is the only resource that I've found that uses that description for a Bean. My research seems to indicate that a Bean is a very generic term that describes a number of different types of objects (Entity Bean, Session Bean, Business Objects, etc.) I think my goal is morphing into determining the proper labels to call some of these things so that my vocabulary is in line with the industry definitions.
