If you haven't already, I would urge you to take a look at the Tartan framework (http://www.tartanframework.org). It comes with a two-way translation layer between Flash/AS objects and CFCs that is works pretty well. It also is a nice way to build multiple applications or application front-ends on a common set of business logic using services.
