John, I've been employed by Macromedia for five years. I've been doing web development for almost ten. I've been doing software development overall for nearly 25 years now. I spent five years of that as an independent contractor - a solo developer - mostly as a web developer. You're very quick to jump on my posts because I work for Macromedia. You need to look beyond that and accept that I don't slavishly represent Macromedia's views on the lists. > The point is that the other party was chiding anyone who doesn't use his > approach is doing bad things. If someone says "I think X is better than Y" that is just a personal opinion, not an attack on everyone using Y. > While I agree that the solution he offered is in fact one that I agree > with... as I stated. Well, gee, glad to hear we're actually in agreement. And so you're attacking me why? > It was the view of an employee. Ah, back to that again. So because I work for the man, my views must be discounted? > It was also in conflict with his own company's history. See above. Strange as it may seem to you, employees are allowed to have their own opinions. The hiring process does not involve a lobotomy or mind-control implants :) > does need to realize that as an employee he doesn't see what a business > owner sees who is not a programmer. What we see from our seat is truth... Like I say, I've been there, done that. For five year I was a solo contractor making all my own business decisions. Anyway folks, this thread doesn't seem to have much to do with "Factory Pattern" so we should either shut up or change the subject...
