Its shareware for $500! /cody -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Dawson, Michael Sent: Thursday, November 10, 2005 1:35 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [CFCDev] OT: OoO Messages We have a very old list serve named "ListCaster". It has an "away" feature so that you can stay subscribed, but not receive any messages. It's a cool product since it runs on SQL Server. That allows me to create a web interface for features such as this. I don't think you can even purchase this software now, but it's a pretty damn good product. In the three fortune 50's that I have carnal knowledge OOO message are required when associates will be away. That's no excuse for misconfiguring them to send multiple messages to the same address over and over and over, but it is out of some people's hands as to whether or not they should use them at all. Still... if you're forced to use them then there's no reason you're listmail has to be on that address in the first place. (As an aside I'm surprised after all these years that the various list software doesn't include a "vacation" option for people. Just as you sub and unsub you should be able to say "vaction: 2 weeks" and not get list mail for two weeks - perhaps even providing digests of the time you time you missed on the day you come back. Just a thought.) Jim Davis ---------------------------------------------------------- You are subscribed to cfcdev.
