Well, if you like Swing so much, why don't you use Swing for the 
Presentation in a java web start application, put a webservice client in 
there and invoke your coldfusion-generated webservices.

Works like a charm.

If only Synth and transparent JScrollPanes would mature a little bit more, 
you can define your look & feel in a css-like xml.

Just my 2 cents.
