Typically, no, but I might want to rewrite request output in OnRequest for HTML interfaces, but not for SOAP interfaces. Generally, the core Application.cfc has very little in it - only things you'd want to have happen on every page request no matter what kind it is. Then, you can extend it as appropriate for modules within your application that do specific things.
