Serving a static HTML file will always be faster than serving a CFML page,
even if the entire thing is cached in memory. Because web servers are built
specifically just to do this. Throughput of HTML files is all they are meant
for. The time it takes to hand off the request to CF for processing, to have
CF render the HTML and hand it back to the web server, will always take
longer. Things are relative here, but I'd guess if you could serve 5,000
CFML pages per minute, you'd be able to server 50,000 static HTML pages per
minute. The actual numbers depend on the hardware, but point is that static
pages are a lot faster.
