Indeed, though I thought it was you who pointed out that "using current tools and technologies one could whip this together in short order" or something to that effect... the point is showing that those tools and techniques are not theoretical.
Arguably you only get good at things by practicing them... and yeah, you can't do what Joe does in that video without a commensurate level of MG knowledge but that's no different than what Baz did with a commensurate level of CF knowledge (except Joe's was a lot more functional). They're essentially the same thing... joe/mg==baz/cfml. ;) The moral of the story is that if you practice using a wide variety of tools, there are few challenges you can't meet. If you only ever practice using cfquery, cfoutput and cfif, that's all you'll ever get good at. Besides, I thought we were playing with hyper-over-simplified concepts... when did this become a real conversation? Don't try to distract me with facts and figures and stuff! :) J On May 11, 2009, at 4:08 PM 5/11/09, Brian Kotek wrote: > But of course, the point is that you already have to understand > Model-Glue and one of the CF ORM options to attain that kind of > development speed! > > On Mon, May 11, 2009 at 5:06 PM, Jared Rypka-Hauer <[email protected] > > wrote: > Well hell, as long as we're playing with hyper-over-simplifications, > with Model-Glue 2, or better yet MG3, and Transfer, in 30 minutes I > could have the DB set up, Transfer configured with user, blog, post, > and comment objects and the insert/edit forms done, the display > pages working, a fresh pot of coffee brewed and be halfway thru the > first cup. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "CFCDev" group.
