yes

that's the nice thing about standards, there's so many to choose from

with regard to dates, sql syntax is different in almost every database

for example, a database may implement the sql standard INTERVAL data type
and allow its use in sql syntax -- or not

ms access has a similar function to mysql's -- DateAdd

not sure the access WHERE clause has that same neat trick about turning a 0
into false, though, so you should use the access IIF() function instead
