I say + 1 on shutting them down for now.

Obviously performance is a big concern but we still don't have
a clear direction yet on the desktops future (status quo vs. re- architect).

I don't anticipate any paid staffers having the extra cycles to maintain these
boxes. This would eventually make a great community project assuming we
had some place to host the boxes safely with in the OSAF organization.

What shall we do with the performance tinderboxen?

The previous owner, Heikki Toivonen, told me offline that he's not interested in maintained them. It's nifty functionality, but it seems like it takes some dedicated time to watch, report, investigate problems. I can't personally doing a good job with that given other responsibilities. From a systems side, shutting them off would save the power, KVM slots, and maintenance. The room the performance tinderbox are in needs to be emptied and right now I don't have a physical place to put them.

So I propose shutting off the performance tinderbox.

To keep them on, we'd need to find a willing volunteer to maintain them and also we'd need to find a physical/network home for them.
