Yes, plan is to implement Product Tour at the same time as well as to
switch out the Get Started Guide.
I see your point about the word Notebook. What if we try "Note-to-
Self Organizer" for now as the description of what the product is and
keep the tagline: A notebook you can organize, back up and share!
Changing Collection --> Notebook will be quite a bit of work because
we refer to it everywhere. But worth doing if we decide it's the
right thing to do and will have larger impact than other things.
I've logged a bug for the "detect-the-download-platform" feature and
have assigned it to you for now - https://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/

I have a new version of the landing page based on the latest
feedback. Here is a screenshot: http://chandlerproject.org/pub/Notes/

Hi Mimi,
I'm liking the latest landing page -- not to say that we might not
need further tweaking, but I think it is an improvement over the
current one and perhaps a good idea to put it up and see how that
goes.
FWIW, I'm not 100% bought into referring to Chandler as a
"Notebook", though the way it fits with the current landing page
looks reasonable, so worth trying out. As I mentioned to you in
person, "Notebook" conjures up spiral bound lined paper and free-
form doodles for me -- not triage and tasks on-a-calendar and
general Chandler-ness. That said, "Notebook" as a term to replace
collection I think is kind of interesting. Also, I see your point
about generally positioning Chandler as a "place to track ideas" vs
as a task manager.
In terms of going ahead with putting it up, I'm assuming that we're
going to implement the 'detect-the-download-platform' feature.
Is the plan to implement the 'product tour' at the same time, or to
do it in phases?
Cheers,
Katie

Here is pass 1 at a new landing page / product tour (feature list)
and quick start guide.
This is by no means DONE. I imagine we will continuously tweak and
improve this. Currently, there is still a lot that's missing,
including: - Link to Log in from the landing page
- User Stories and User Quotes on the landing page
- An end-to-end story of how we guide users from download thru
setting up to share
- Review of Quick Start Guide instructions
- Screenshots of nifty new separate detail view in Product Tour
and Feature List
I also need help figuring out how to put the product tour
screenshots in a slideshow that I can control. Currently, I'm
using flickr, but it doesn't seem to allow me to show the screens
at full size (640x480) nor does it allow me to control the speed
of the slideshow (it's way to fast right now!).
You can see the new product tour here: http://chandlerproject.org/
Notes/ProductTour The landing page is attached as a zip file at
the top.
