Yes, I think rolling it into one email is best way to do it. That simplifies other aspects of the UI as well.

I also realized that include upcoming tasks in the "Upcoming Report", users will need to share Alarms...Currently we don't support per-user alarms, so sharing alarms for notifications means sharing alarms with everybody else too.

You can create calendars, just not delete them. Well, you can delete them but iCal goes berserk after a deletion.
