Okay, I think I understand what you're getting at.
Really what we need to do is straighten out our View Selector versus
Kind Filter story.
I believe the problem we're running into is that the Dashboard
collection that can't be viewed as a Calendar. (User-defined
collections can display in 'Triage List View" in the Calendar app
just fine I think.)
For now however, I'm proposing we skirt the view-selector issue by
organizing the View menu this way:
View>>
All
Starred
Calendar
--------------
Clean up
--------------
Month View
Week View
Day View
--------------
Next Week
Previous Week
.
.
.
Month/Week/Day Views would be greyed out except when user is looking
at a user-defined collection in the Calendar App Area.

Hi Mimi,
My apologies, too many words. Yes, in the direction of your
clarification about the bug below, I was trying to suggest that
when the Dashboard collection is selected, that the active (not
greyed) menu choices should be:
View>>
- All
- Starred
- Calendar>>Triage Table
...that is, to parallel the toolbar...with the idea that selecting
the path View>>Calendar>>Triage Table would have the same effect as
pressing the Calendar toolbar button, as now implemented, and
ideally also actually "pressing" the Calendar toolbar button for
the user.

Hi Andre,
I'm not sure I'm following your description.
I think there was a misunderstanding about that bug, which I've re-
opened. The menu structure should be:
View>>
- All
- Starred
- Calendar>>Month / Week / Day
------------------

Hi, I just tried this out, and was immediately surprised that
from the Dashboard/All view the sub menu items for View >
Calendar were greyed out. I was expecting to have ability to
choose a sub menu item to change the view to Dashboard/Calendar.
Many programs have both icon and menu paths to various views and
functions. I believe the current implementation is confusing and
will be a barrier to discovery.
I suggest adding and making active a Triage Table View menu
choice to the sub menu under View > Calendar for use in the
Dashboard collection. That is, the Triage Table View sub menu
choice would be active only when pressing View > Calendar from
the Dashboard/All view. I believe this would help to clarify for
new users the behavior difference, when pressing the Calendar
toolbar button, between being in the Dashboard collection and a
user collection. Certainly, I'm influenced by having used to date
the current Tools > Select View menu items, but I believe they
clarify rather than obscure Chandler's features. I am not
suggesting at this time that a Calendar/Triage Table View be made
available for personal collections due to the open issue of
master occurrences being displayed also and the confusion that
can cause. (Even though I believe this should be a 1.x feature. I
have a user story to support this.)
I didn't reopen this bug, but will do so if there is agreement.
