Hi Folks,
I would really like to get 1.0 out this week since I worry about it
dragging on. I also think we should stick to our policy of fixing
blocker bugs only at this stage. That being said, if the fixes are
low risk and Grant feels fine with them, I am supportive of adding
them in.
We discussed this in IRC and Mimi proposed what I think is a clever
approach: Use RC1 as 1.0 (maybe RC1 plus one of the small safe bugs
I mentioned before, Mimi is especially enamored of fixing the ugly
Outlook issue) but when announcing 1.0 also spin something we'll
call something like 1.0-Google and ask people to test it for us.
That satisfies my urge to let people enticed by the 1.0 announcement
try CalDAV with Google, and makes it clear we haven't tested it as
thoroughly as 1.0.
Sounds reasonable to me. FWIW, if CalDAV is "important", we might want
to think about making Chandler work with Apple Calendar Server in
Leopard (which seems to require digest authentication, currently
unsupported).
