BWC needs to upgrade to DB2 Version 11and z/OS 2.2. The Lead for these
efforts is on disability with no estimated return date at this time. They
are seeking a person that can LEAD these projects for the DB2 related tasks
that need to be completed. This position is budgeted for 680 hours and will
be needed until the projects are completed.

This person will need to be capable of performing as a DB2 System person
skilled in migration and tuning of DB2 and the use of DB2 3rd party tools.
The DB2 system Administrator would provide:

•Assistance performing DB2 system Admin tasks

-Primary support for the DB2 system admin

•Participate in on call support for DB2 System Admin and Application DBA

•Skills to perform assigned system tasks independently

•Assistance and direction to application DBA’s

•Third party tool configuration and usage, Backup and Recovery, Table
Partitioning Strategies

•Disaster Recovery, Application development Support

•DB2 System Administrator 8 Years Required

•DB2 admin duties in a z/OS environment

•Installation and migration experience

•Experience with IMB z/OS utilities: TSO, ISPF, SMF, REX. SAS and SMS

*Desired Work experience:*

• Previous experience as an Oracle 12c RAC on AIX environment system DBA

• Experience acting as the lead researcher for the install, upgrade, patch
and maintenance all for 12c oracle cluster/database software

• Level 1 support for oracle 12c production databases, including but
limited to:

Database/system down, system recovery, data recovery, storage, system
alerts, core dumps

Along with day to day maintenance and prevention (ensure availability)

• Tuning all Oracle instance components including memory and CPU allocation

• Implementing oracle encryption (TDE)

• Composing system/database Unix shell scripts

• Utilizing OEM Cloud Control 12c (In depth knowledge)

• Establishing system monitoring guidelines and procedure

• Writing DBA procedures and standards

• Mentoring

• TSM and TWS is helpful but not required



This is not an application DBA position but may have some ETL.  ETL
experience is not required.

The ideal candidate would have the technical qualifications specified below

ties, schedules and tasks with Team Leads.

·         Review and understand the Application Teams work plan.

·         Anticipate and resolve issues specific to the team.

·         Determine time estimates and schedule for own work and resolve iss
ues in a timely manner.

·         Identify and track issues, risks and action items.

·         Follow quality standards.

·         Review and approve procedures for use of on-line documentation too
ls as appropriate.

·         Identify business and technical documentation needs not currently
addressed.

·         Own documentation libraries and subscription lists.

·         Promote the need for developing and using standard documentation f
or all processes within the organization.

·         Perform detailed reviews of interim and final tasks as appropri
ate.

·         Oversee processing of service requests.

·         Develop and manage short and long-term documentation plans and sch
edules.

·         Understand work requests/needs within Application Teams

·         Manage the accomplishment of delivery metrics in support of contra
ctual obligations in the areas of service delivery, on time performance.

·         Work with Team Leads and Group Leads to set documentation goals.



The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

·         Microsoft Word, PowerPoint

·         Microsoft Excel

·         Visio

·         Must have strong communication skills; both written and spoken

·         Must have ability to work in a team environment





Day-to-Day Responsibilities would include:

·         Working with Finance and IT to create various documentation for
existing systems.

·         Create User Manuals and Tutorials for end-users for IT
applications.

·         Revise existing IT documentation as needed.

·         Strong communication skills: both written and spoken.

·         Work with Application Team members to enhance their understanding
of end-user and technical documentation.

·         Ensure messages and terminology is consistent across all written
materials.

·         Working with the PMO as needed for various documentation.






The position will go through the end of fiscal, with the possibility of
being extended into next fiscal.
