For companies that may be interested in partnering with UMich to get a group of grad students to work on a defined problem. Deadline Oct 1. The University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI) announces the second Call for Proposals for the UMSI Global Information Engagement Program. Through this program, organizations in India, working on issues that are relevant to technology and society, can partner with the University to build a tool or resource or study an issue over a seven-month engagement. The University will match a team of 2-4 graduate students to work on a problem defined by the organization. The students will first work on the problem for one semester at the university, following which they will spend between 6-12 weeks on the ground in India continuing their work on the ground. The program has been developed to provide a means for organizations working on issues of social relevance to benefit from technology skills outside of their immediate institutional expertise, where they can partner with graduate students who can fulfill the skill gap they seek to close. Details on the kinds of projects supported in the past and information on how to apply to partner with us are available at http://giep.si.umich.edu. Proposals from partner organizations for the 2015 round are due on October 1 2014. _______________________________________________ TIER mailing list Website: http://tier.cs.berkeley.edu [email protected] https://www.millennium.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tier _______________________________________________ change mailing list [email protected] http://changemm.cs.washington.edu/mailman/listinfo/change
