+1 to both Damian and Russel. My contributions to NWChem support dropped
100-fold when they switched from an email list to a online forum. Things
like Slack and Gitter may work fine for insular development teams, but will
discourage moonlighting.
groups.io has been working nicely for me for OpenHPC email. I like their
interface much more than Google Groups.
