Thanks to the people who sent me email, much appreciated. Apologies for
the delay in reporting back.

    VIM 3
    Atom 2
    Sublime 1
    Nano 1
    Gedit 1

I suspect a bit of "chicken and egg", people are used to editors, there
is Chapel colouring support in these, and no-one has done an IDE plugin
for Chapel so no-one uses them.

Strategically programming language traction is tied in with IDE
support, hence X10 going with Eclipse (OK so there is an IBM connection
as well :-) 

Interestingly (or not) some new languages have gone with an IDE only
approach (include X10) and yet whilst the IDE is always appreciated,
Emacs, VIM, and SublimeText support is always a must.

I am told writing Eclipse language plugins is easier that IntelliJ IDEA
and CLion ones, but CLion wins hands down for me. And then there is
Netbeans.
