Yes. I had not thought about that point of view, but I can understand it.
I think we need to distinguish between "order of evaluation" and
"orientation of ___" ... something.
Perhaps the simplest way to approach this issue is to start out with
some examples

It's probably wrong to jump into our grammar for combinations of
operations where we have not given any examples of those operations in
isolation.
