We had someone at the last NYCJUG asking about J support for threads in order to take advantage of multiple cores, so I re-iterated my oft-repeated assertion that it's easy to write multi-core code without threads. My talk at the J conference - http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/Community/Conference2012/Talks/ParallelSimulationInJ- gives a simple, explicit example of how to do this.
An example with multiple, interacting processes using sockets would be even better, though.
