I am copying some formulas from a research paper and would like to keep the
names as close as possible to the original.

I realize this is a very basic question but was wondering if anyone has any
conventions or tips that work for them when dealing with subscripts and
superscripts.

For example, the paper has:

f 0 = [0.000080 0.000055 0.000185 0.000108]
f t = [0.000073 0.000043 0.000150 0.000071]

u 0 = [0.023 0.192 0.140 0.645]

u t = [0.027 0.127 0.197 0.649]

Where 0 and t are subscripts.

Thanks for any ideas. The solution may be to use F0 and Ft. Or maybe Fsub0
FsubT. I would ideally like to be able to use ASCII only for ease of input
