The problem is, it's not the government that doesn't want us
doing something, it's those corporations which stand to lose
money if we do.  They bribe the congress for laws designed to
prevent their mistakes from harming them.  In particular, their
mistake was investing huge sums of money on the assumption that the
technological status quo would not change.  

There are laws against bribing Congress, but somehow they don't get
enforced.  What happens is "not bribery" for some reason.  I Wonder why?

Some supporters of Freenet say copyright is just an innocent
bystander in the fight for free speech.  Others of us see copyright
applied to individuals rather than businesses as an evil which must be
eliminated and support freenet for that reason.

Kiddie porn is a minor issue compared to the copyright problem.
For that, I think there will be a technological solution which
will make it less easy to find on Freenet, so that no one without an ax
to grind will think node operators are liable.   Regarding the copyright
problem, come and get us.  We aren't going to give up without a fight.
