The network works really good. And some of the last routing problems regarding resource utilasation on the internet is being worked on. So my question is when the freenet projekt takes it to the next level and actually provides support for hidden connections to freenet? At the moment all ISP's in China could just get some way to see a connection is running freenet (you must admit it is not that hard), so it has to be in steganography, wireless or off line.
So I really think you should just hack some quick stuff up just to see if it works. I think the off line way is the most interesting, since it does not use internet routing. So the idea is that a person takes his (big) USB key around with him all the time. When he meets a friend, hi puts it in his friends computer press the "Freenet Exchange" button. Then packets are moved around. When he gets home he can see if there are any new messages in the inbox... For users who care more about avaibility than anonymity, even a simple version of this would be a big boon - even with the current state of freenet 0.7. Also it would just be so cool to communicate with friends, just by using off line communication, even just for fun (doesn't matter if the latency is in weeks). --Lean _______________________________________________ chat mailing list chat@freenetproject.org Archived: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.network.freenet.general Unsubscribe at http://emu.freenetproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/chat Or mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
