hi I've one with eeeubuntu - I LOVE IT. Mine is an 701 and I have /usr mounted on the SD card. I progam mainly in lisp - no major problem so J would work too. The keyboard is ok, but there is some things J users should be aware of and that is the odd key layout - '|' is Alt Gr - Fn - '|' fo example. '>' is Fn - Shift - '>'.
J users should change the layout. Otherwise acer has a small one with normal layout - heavy J users should opt for that one I think.
