Yes. This is one reason my wife opt to get a PS3 (I'm still waiting for
an HDMI monitor) + Linux (can run Windows in a virtual machine, slowly)
instead of getting an eeePC/MSI Wind/Acer Aspire One.

She has two reasons:
1. The low specs feels like a toy and is not powerful enough to the
beating that's it's going to get.
2. She would rather buy a full feature laptop than get the ones with
hard disks. It's as big as a normal laptop minus the cd-drive.

Oh. Price comparison:
PS3 40GB Asian Edition (we have a 720p TV + old Logitech wireless
keyboard and mouse) = 18,800 Pesos
Acer Aspire One = 18,900 Pesos
Asus eee PC 1000 = 29,800 Pesos
MSI Wine 100U = 28,900 Pesos

The only problem with the PS3 is how big is the Linux partition. You
see, even if you upgrade the harddisk to 250GB ... you still have to
decide whether to give Linux 10GB and the rest to PS3 or 10GB to PS3 and
the rest to Linux. Decisions ... decisions. :P Oh, and you'll just going
to want to buy an HDMI 1080p LCD monitor after a while. The TV was never
meant to be used as an eBook reader. Heheheheh. Ouch.

Too bad eeepc converges to a normal notebook both in physical size and
price.
