I never came across REXX before. There seem to be more languages than problems!
Does anybody know a list of, or maybe could come up with suggestions for, the weaknesses of J in terms of programming tasks? For example, programming tasks that are much easier to solve in a different language than in J? I.e. problems where J programmers would advise to use a different language instead? Incidentally, I came across this reasonably detailed effort on "debunking the myths of OOP" (my phrasing) http://www.geocities.com/tablizer/oopbad.htm. I don't have an opinion on the whole OOP vs P/R argument - oh, okay, I'll admit it! I prefer P/R but do not argue against OOP if that is what people like, a bit like the granary vs white bread argument (I prefer granary and view white bread as something that was once healthy with most of the healthy bits removed ... Why would you choose to do that?) - but just thought that people on this forum might be interested in the arguments he present.
