Re Latex -- I guess Vector could manage it nowadays, but not being the
editor that's not my call. Adrian & Stephen are clever enough to
accept any format flung at them... but working to deadlines, as they
do, the decision was made not to encourage that, but to confine
submissions to a very small choice of formats.

Why I (and Vector) use MSWord is not because it is good but because it
is common.

Re box corners -- yes I like the look of graphic ones too. But the
original source material came in so many styles, heritage fonts and
obsolete MSWord features that I regretfully decided to convert them
all to Plus because that comes out looking like Plus in most
migrations, including unanticipated ones. Once all the articles are
laundered, it's a decision I might revisit.
