Bill,

I was sort of waiting to see if others are getting an echo. I hear none here.

Btw, I had the most wonderful experience a week ago when my 7.5 year
old grandson, Tyler or T, asked me to show him J and all I could think
to do was show him the screencast regarding a triangle robot. He
looked a little impatient, especially when the scrast got off-subject
to the content sensitive help, but he stayed at my shoulder while it
played.

Later after he got me to set up his own user account on our computer
(T wanted one for his mother's computer so he could be independent,
and the was the most important "lesson" he learned from our screencast
experience, because I showed it from a separate user account), T asked
me to fire up J and I obliged. After we used a thumb drive to port J
from my computer to his new account on his mother's computer, he asked
me to launch J and he immediately created his own robot without my
help, by only changing the number of triangles from 6 to 1 (and not
changing the random vertices).

<heartbeat on>Yes!<heartbeat off>

Then on Easter while T was dueling his other granddad with his
lightsaber, his mom asked me to familiarize her with J so that she
could keep up with him and after too long I stumbled on the "An
introduction to J" Lab with her. She really thinks that will be a
perfect playground for T, who later said he was disappointed that I
had not shown him directly. I explained that we live apart and it
would be better for him to learn about J with his mother.

I have been thinking about doing a screencast named "J Programming
Language _ an introduction" to demo the first couple of lessons of the
"An introduction to J" Lab.
