Here you can definitely learn from J non-commersial license being free and the support given (mostly) by other users.
The more licenses you can get out and more users using your product the more likely you are to get more commersial licenses and they are both willing and able to pay for support. Not have too much admin for the free stuff and then it should be easy to let interested parties get to download a free copy.
