I didn't mean to imply that Splosky would be supportive of the use of 
J or APL, but this thread is about whether using good tools (even 
duct tape and WD40) is cheating (or not productive).

Michael Dykman made the point that seeing a problem in J is a very 
useful tool, even when required to implement a solution in other 
environments.
