I agree on the good quality of JfC. My copy is not used intensively, but
enough to be happy with it.

No Dieter, they have not. My copy of J for C programmers is still
fully intact. My comment was on the quality of the paper in my
softback copy of At Play With J purchased in the UK.  The binding is
very good and I do not expect any pages to fall out of the either
book.

It is not devastatingly bad, and had I known that the paper would be
so yellow I would still have purchased the book.
