Optimistic?... I'm not sure you've phrased that right.

Handango is the main outlet for Windows Mobile apps AFAIK. But
nowadays they look like they're bringing up the trailing edge of
technology. None of the apps they sell on their site install any more
like it says on the box. They're all about 10 years old. The only
reliable way is to locate the CAB-file, get it onto your palmtop
"somehow" and open it -- ignore any other installation gimmick that's
offered.

When I see my daughter and her contemporaries with their iPhones,
shelling out without a second thought for cheap simple downloadable
apps like they were music tracks, I get frustrated I'm missing the
main chance.

The iPhone was last year's platform, the iPad is this years', but
what's next year's going to be?

No point in running to catch up now. Need to think ahead.
