It is obviously an open question how J7 will be best utilized. By allowing the browser to talk to a session on the same machine or a machine anywhere else in the world it opens up a whole range of different possibilities.
Through socket connections it has been possible for many years for J sessions to communicate freely and many people have done so in many different project. I worked on such a project over a decade ago and it was absolutely brilliant and it is very flexible and robust.
