It's weird. I have tested it with gcc 4.0.3 (Debian 4.0.3-1), gcc
4.1.0 (Debian 4.1.0-1) and Sun C 5.8 (2005/10/13), and it compiled
with all of them.
Actually, in you log the linker complains about a undefined symbol
named `del_item', although it's defined as an static function in the
only file it is used: table.c.
This patch seems to fix the problem:
