Hi there guys,

I'm lucky enough to be happily chatting and even hanging
out in person with Alvaro here in Mexico for the Debconf6 so
I just told him I would send this mail to the list to remind
us of something I commented and he though that could be
important:

Benchmarks for Cherokee are quite outdated. We might be needing
to put together not only new benchmarks but a guide for people
to reproduce the benchmark themselves if day want to and make
sure to include new servers like nginx[1] which clains to be
one of the fastest thingies around.

I think writing down the procedure for the benchmark(s) and
variations is important to have them updated and have volunteers
(among ourselves for example) help keep'em in good shape.

I also think this benchmark are a good thing(tm) to have the
name of Cherokee keep rolling around the net... With this docs
published I guess it could be quite easy to have them linked
from sites like digg[2] or meneame[3] (spanish digg with
source code) since random people might be very likely to
click and digg in a title like "Which are the fastest
webservers on the planet" or stuff like that.

Have fun with Cherokee,

Antonio Ognio
Lima-Peru.
