IMHO, this shouldn't be a web server feature. It'll be better if Cherokee would have an AuthModule support. (A new TODO feature request?) In this way, contributors can easily implement their own authentication modules. For instance: libcherokee-mod-auth-pgsql libcherokee-mod-auth-mysql libcherokee-mod-auth-ldap libcherokee-mod-auth-pam libcherokee-mod-auth-kerberos You can quite expand this list. But as I indicated above, these should be a module, not a built-in functionality.
