Just keep in mind that Ubuntu has a different version of Cherokee than yours, and it probably has a different maintainer. This bug, yes, would pose no problems - But I strongly suggest that, instead of taking over Ubuntu bugs, you collaborate with their official package maintainership (instead of hosting an unofficial repository in their infrastructure), to avoid misunderstandings and erroneously closed bugs.
