It can be integrated with your production web server, although I wouldn't personally do it. If you need a data base load balancer you most probably don't want to mess with your web server (I bet it has enough load already). I'd recommend you to configure an independent Cherokee server on another box (port?) using only the dbslayer handler. In that way you'll have an isolated data base balancer, which is by far much more secure and easy to administer and trace. >> It would be useful to put up a cook book of an example set up.
