The final target is to allow Fedora users to install an updated  
version of Cherokee in a easy and reliable way. Of course, it's much  
easier when the packages are integrated within the main distribution  
package set.

Anyway, I must confess I don't know much about how the Fedora  
community works. So, I wouldn't know what do reply to your question,  
actually.  Is it worth maintaining packages outside?  Is it possible  
to put that work in the main distro package?

The best scenario would be to keep an up-to-date package within the  
main Fedora distribution.
