But I am pretty sure that once Cherokke is part of Fedora, it will be really up to date (with 2 releases behind of current at the worst case). Another thing to consider is that once Cherokee is part of Fedora, the package accomplish all the Package Quality and Specificacions approved to Fedora Official Packages; so it have inside several scripts in order to keep it "Fedora compliant", like a Fedora Style init script and so on.
