Not if its policed correctly. Just running Cherokee is rather easy, a testament to on going development. I can only assume that links would be reviewed so that this program does not foster page rank inspired mindlessness :) Furthermore, pages on port 81 (and others besides 80) should be kicked. Same goes for 443 vs 444. A good rule is, if the page serves more ads than original content .. no way.. however someone is going to have to make that decision. I really think that a little "Google Juice" is a good way to convince anyone on the fence about switching to Cherokee to take the plunge. However, its just my opinion. Your objection is not entirely self serving, who wants to link to total crap? Surely, once the SEO gods get wind of this, there will be an influx of submitted total crap. I define 'crap' as a page that just regurgitates some RSS feed while plastering it with ads. Now we get into adult sites, what about those?
