Compliance with the GPL also entails providing all build scripts that
you used to produce the binary. I.e. its very easy for someone to get
the source and hack their local copy.. I think this will happen more
frequently than you anticipate.

As others have said, you are taking a 120MM gun and making it a .22 ..
what feature in Cherokee makes this a desirable course of action? What
do you need to 'turn on' later?

You can roll your own server in about 50 lines of code to serve static
pages .. so I can only guess that your needs will eventually expand and
you need to serve updates to meet those needs in the future? 

If you want help from a public pool of developers, you'll need to be
more specific. I firmly realize that you can not be more specific, hence
my questions.
