Hello there, Good news everyone! I'm glad to announce that thanks to Miguel Angel Ajo, there will be a new set of fair, well performed benchmarks available soon.
The benchmark covers the latest version of: Apache, Cherokee, Lighttpd and Nginx. All the configurations, scripts and software involved will be publicly available so anyone can reproduce and validate the results. I'll let Miguel Angel get into the details when he gets it ready and properly published. Actually, it isn't simply a benchmark; it's a whole new application with which benchmarks can be perform and reproduced seamlessly: It downloads, compiles, installs and tests each single server. In fact, in order to do so in the most fair and correct way we've even had to write a new benchmarking tool [1]. I do hope this software will help us to get rid of lousy benchmarks and unfortunate arguments once and for all. Besides, with a bit of lack, the rest of the community will mimic this proactive and positive example. So.. let's there be light!!
