Well, it depends: Do you want to drop RHEL/CentOS support? AFAIK RHEL 5.4 (and I guess 5.5 too because the API freeze, compatibility, support, etc) uses python 2.4.3. >From my experience, RHEL users won't upgrade because they're paying RHEL for the support (and python 2.4.3 is the supported version!). You can install from sources with another bin-suffix, but it could be great to support REHL out of the box (if possible).
